METROPOLITAN POLICE

Social Media & Production

As the Creative Lead and Content Producer for the social team at the Metropolitan Police, I specialise in crafting engaging, impactful content that resonates with our diverse community. My responsibilities include developing innovative social media concepts and producing visually compelling narratives that highlight the Met's initiatives and enhance public understanding.

By leveraging creativity and data-driven insights, I strive to humanise those who wear the uniform, strengthen community relationships and promote safety and transparency across London’s neighbourhoods.

Short Form

For channels such as TikTok and Instagram, the diversity in content is important. Creating narratives, which will draw in core metrics such as views, followers and likes is key to showcasing the brand perception. Our goal was to gain 50K followers in one year on TikTok, we finsihed that year with 99.1K. Using the platform to educate and tell stories, as well as appeal to the wider audience on TikTok, the account has grown exponentially.

Perception

For national awareness and ad campaigns, it is important to create visuals which stand out from the norm. A government organisation such as the Met, historically would have gone down regimented and visually uninspiring routes to reach their target audience.

To reimagine the way these can be approached, I created a series which began with a question, engaging the consumer straight away. This is paired and followed up with animations which help educate in a direct and playful manor.

Bold Graphics

For important messages and events in London, it is imperative that the graphics themselves stand out and break the corporate mould. For content with an educational and cultural purpose, bold and bright content, catches the eye and generates a higher rate of consumer impressions.

Imagery

Creating dynamic imagery which shows motion by using a slow shutter speed is currently trending in the world of sports photography. Bringing this style of content capture to the social channels of an organisation like as the Met caught many followers off guard in a positive light. From enthused comments on the posts, through to media outlets such as ImJustBait sharing the content to their millions of followers. Using my past experiance within sports advertising and content creation was a skill I did not expect to use as much as I have been able to while at the Met police.

Long Form

Long-form content is something I am both creating and guiding the Met towards. Using this space to tackle and showcase humanising narratives in current affairs, as well as behind-the-scenes style projects so illustrate how the organisation works when faced with challenges and large scale events.
